Weekly Market Stats

Updated: March 15, 2010 (as of 3/12/2010)

Small-cap Growth led the cap/styles last week, but all small caps were strong. Large-cap Growth was the worst, but still positive.

Sectors are in a state of flux, which is reflected in our weekly sector returns and our forward-looking, fundamentals-based model. Over the past few weeks Financials, Healthcare, and Information Technology have been among the top or better-than-average sectors, as predicted by our forward-looking model. Consumer Staples and Utilities have also adhered to the forward-looking bent of the model, generating the worst returns of all the sectors (except for today). The other sectors haven't fallen in line quite as well, probably because of the fluctuations of the market as a whole.
